I’m a 25 year old Korean-American Plus Size model born and raised in sunny Torrance, CA, 5 minutes from the beach. Having all Asian friends, I was very self conscious when I was younger. I was always bigger than the other girls. But soon after graduating high school, I started to see full figured models more and more in ads as well as a bigger variety of plus size clothing. This was when I started to embrace my body and realized that real women have curves.
Seeing models in ads for clothing companies, I always thought that I could also do that. However, being plus size and also being Asian, I knew that I had to work twice as hard to make it in this industry. I first started modeling in 2007 right after getting out of the Army. My first modeling attempt was participating in Torrid’s model search. I didn’t make the cut but was still offered a modeling job. I’ve done fashion shows for Nordstrom’s, Macy’s, Torrid, and also took part in FFFWeek Los Angeles. I’ve was also one of the cover girls in the first True Curves Pin Up Calendar that was sold nationwide. I’ve been featured in Venus Magazine, Plus Magazine, and in the Barack Obama Special Edition of “Sister Sister Magazine”. I’ve done a lot of fit modeling as well as print and runway. I’ve modeled for Hips and Curves, Big Gals Lingerie, Designer Curves, Size Appeal, etc. I’m recently Torrid’s newest model and doing lots of upcoming projects with them as well as featured on Good Day LA in the Monif C Swimsuit segment.
I’ve been so blessed to be able to work with such great people in this industry. I have recently signed with an agency and hope to travel to New York soon to further my modeling career.
