Limarie Lewis is an up & coming full figured model out of Philadelphia, PA who is dedicated to making a difference in the plus modeling industry and in the lives of people everywhere. Her passionate beliefs are evident through her poetry performances, writing & music. Her first album “Deep Thoughts Defined” was re-released this year for free download due to her desire to share it with the world. Unafraid of the many judgments that society may have of her, because of her beliefs and size, Limarie (also known as Poetikmind) stepped out on faith to pursue a career in plus modeling in late 2008.
After doing much research and testing with photographers, Limarie found an outlet online for her plus modeling journey by sharing some of her experiences on Venus Diva’s community Forums. It was there that she found the extra encouragement needed to pursue her dreams. She was later blessed to grace the cover of Venus Diva magazine and was also featured in the UK’s Just as Beautiful & Plus Model Magazines. She also went on to win DC Glamour Plus’ Model of the Year in 2010. Limarie discovered that her passion for modeling did not stop in front of the camera but instead ran into other creative areas of her life. Motivated by personal accomplishments & overcoming areas insecurity, she has become a cheerleader for other women who struggle with similar issues. Often sharing what she has learned and her experiences along the way through her blogs & poetry, she later became the Curvy Confidence Editor for Daily Venus Diva, a Plus Size Lifestyle Magazine. As a writer & poet she loves to inspire all people, especially other full figured women to love themselves and to “step out on faith” to pursue their dreams as she is currently doing.
Limarie is a plus size industry professional, working hard to make her modeling dreams come true, while learning the value of staying true to herself in an industry that considers straight size models plus and plus sized models too fat. She loves to motivate and encourage others especially “behind the scenes” and believes that one voice can make a difference and unified voices can make a permanent change in what the world projects as beautiful. People are listening and women want to be respected, honored, appreciated and celebrated no matter what age or size they are. Limarie’s main goal is to continue pursuing her dreams while sharing with others her journey in hopes to inspire, motivate & remind women everywhere, especially curvy women that they are “fearfully and wonderfully made” and they should never settle for less because of their size!
