I hate to admit it but I’m an old school shopper. I like going to the mall. Don’t get me wrong online shopping is amazing, but there’s nothing like going to the mall. As a curvy woman, I really value being able to try clothes on before I buy them.
But all my plus size sisters know how frustrating shopping at the mall can be. Straight size stores don’t have your size, then some plus size stores look like the clothes were made for my mother instead of me. Recently, I was running to the Forever 21 in one of my local malls to fulfill my urges to shop at the mall or for last minute outfits. Although the tiny plus size section seemed a bit unfair, I dealt with it for the convenience of being able to touch, feel, and try the clothes before I take them home. We’ve all ordered something online, only to get our feelings hurt when it arrives and doesn’t fit or didn’t look exactly as we had imagined.
I had always heard of Fashion to Figure and had browsed their website many times, but I never made a purchase. Then one of my friends told me that the mall I ran to for Forever 21 had a new plus size store. I asked her which one it was and was so excited to hear it was Fashion to Figure. Although I was at that same mall just the night before I didn’t make to that area in the mall. So I ran back the next day to take a look.
I had an amazing experience. No small corner, but a whole store with affordable fashions that didn’t make me feel like a grandmother. God answers prayers! In addition to a clean, organized environment and fashionable clothes, their employees are so nice! Although all the fitting rooms were full, my stylist, Shondell really made me feel like she was there just for me. She assisted me with switching out garments for size and offered different options. We all know what a difference shapewear can make. She also let me try the Squeem corset, which I was really impressed with.
Fashion to Figure definitely has a new loyal customer in me. Here’s one of the outfits I got for Christmas. It’s the classic LBD with a twist. Of course, as a strong believer in proper undergarments the downside of this dress is you can’t wear a body shaper. I still love it though. It’s perfect for a night out with my girls or a night out on the town with my hubby.
