What an honor this is to share my thoughts, dreams and desires with such a wonderful community as PlusforUs.com. I look forward to sharing awesome outfits, rants, raves and more. I may be new to blogging but my passion and experience in the plus size world has been life-long. It has taken me years to accept the curves of my soul and body. Too much time wasted covering up, being ashamed, and settling for less than fashionable styles. Those days are as gone as the days of aqua net. I am finally putting my talents to use, Its time for the world to see me for who I am really am…A confident plus size woman. I respectfully admit to being 29 years young. I am married going on 9 years to a incredibly loving supportive husband, we have two gorgeous daughters 8 and 6. I balance life of marriage, motherhood, working full-time like most…Pulling my hair out on occasions and coffee…lots of it.
Now that you know 6 inches of my life, I thought I would start off my writings by showcasing snippets of my style leading with an fun casual weekend outfit that transitions between seasons of winter and fall. Changing leggings for printed tights, the jean jacket for warm knitted sweater. Knee high boots, or bootie heels. This outfit can be mixed and matched in so many ways.
I love little details. I borrowed AKA stole the belt from my hubs. Just enough country for me.
The dress and jean jacket I bought from OldNavy.com. The dress was on clearance for $14 bucks and with a 15% off coupon the jacket was $35. I had been searching for a soft flowing dress for a while and had to buy it when I came across in the sale section online late one night. I was hesitant buying it but was pleasantly surprised with the quality and fit of this dress. Unfortunately the jean jacket needed to be exchanged for a smaller size and seeing as I cant go right into the store and do that I had to wait to put this number together.
On a side note, Old Navy is in desperate need of a genuine plus size buyer their fit varies tremendously. I also feel Old Navy does their plus customers a disservice by only offering their plus sizes solely online. I want to be able to have the experience in store like everyone else. Seriously have you seen the size of the womens area? I think they can fit us in!! With the variety of clothes they offer, the low price I believe they would see an HUGE increase in sales and gain some wonderful customers.
I LOVE Leggings…love love love and the ones I am wearing are amazing. I got them from a HOT sale currently running at the Avenue. I paid $7 or less for them. When buying make sure to buy a size smaller than normal they run a bit big.
My favorite boots of all time are from Dots! they have amazing stretch and comfort. Its really hard for me to find wide calve fit at a reasonable price and these are it! Sprayed with scotch guard and they should get me through a few seasons.
What I love most about this outfit besides being super affordable is the comfort. Its a perfect mix for Saturday errands or a movie date with the hubs. Being comfortable and stylish makes my confidence soar!
